Equisetum hyemale or more widely known as 'horsetail plant' is a non-flowering evergreen perennial.
How do horsetail plants (equisetum hyemale) grow? Horsetail plant reproduces through its spores (not seeds). The plant rhizomes about 2 inches below the soil.
Because of it resembles a miniature bamboo plant, it is used as an integral part of garden design that accentuates a small pond, or fountain. Many enthusiast use equisetum hyemale as a ground cover planted in a shady places.
In this video, I will show how I propagate my horsetail plant from cuttings. I use coconut shell planter (https://youtu.be/gOokfP2L3xM) and DIY potting soil mix.
Potting mix or soil works fine for potted horsetail plant. Make sure to keep the soil moist when horsetail plants are young. In few months time, it will produce baby horsetail plants 🎍.
In the future, I would like to try propagation of horsetail plants in water. Sounds exciting, isn't it? So stay tuned for that. In the meantimie, why don't you like, comment, or share this.
